Assumption Life was first established in 1903 in Massachusetts as la Société l’Assomption. The company has grown into a Canada-wide mutual life insurance and financial services organization. Assumption Life moved to Moncton, New Brunswick in 1913. In 1972 they moved into their new headquarters, Assumption Place, located in Moncton, New Brunswick. The company offers a full spectrum of insurance and investment products including:

The Assumption Life group of companies includes a real estate management division. The Assumption Place Ltd has rental spaces throughout New Brunswick. Another division of Assumption Life, Louisbourg Investments Inc, is an investment portfolio management firm. The company and its employees donate to the Tree of Hope. The Tree of Hope is a non-profit foundation that offers emergency help to families who experience a sudden tragic loss. The company also publishes a quarterly newsletter, The Confident Times.
